Dear………..
The Chairman of Bayside Monarchists, Mr. David Cowling, cordially invites you to Bayside Monarchists second banquet for this year on Saturday the 4th of October at 7:30 pm at the Hampton RSL. Bayside Monarchists is honoured that the National Chairman of the Australian Monarchist League (AML) Mr. Philip Benwell will give the keynote address at this banquet, entitled:
Crown and Federation
Mr. Benwell’s talk will be very important because it will highlight the contemporary republican threat to Australia’s constitutional liberty. The purpose of Bayside Monarchists is to promote unity of purpose among Australian monarchists while also alerting non-monarchists of threats to our system of government and way of life.
Mr. Benwell is well qualified to speak authoritatively on constitutional matters and the importance of the Crown in preserving Australia’s very successful system of government. In 2003 the speaker had published in the United States his book, “In Defence of Australia’s Constitutional Monarchy”. This book sold well in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom and it has been used as a text book in universities and schools in those countries. By invitation, Mr. Benwell has been a frequent speaker at the meetings of the House of Lords in which he has conveyed his high esteem and knowledge of the Australian Constitution with reference to the crucially important role of the Crown.
As AML Chairman, Mr. Benwell has been at the forefront in Australia of defending our system of constitutional monarchy, the person of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and our Royal Family. As an Australian patriot Mr. Benwell is determined that our system of government and law, devised by and for Australians, be preserved. His talk will emphasize that the Australian Constitution has withstood the test of time in underpinning liberty and justice for all Australians and will continue to do so by maintaining our connection with the Crown.
Mr. Benwell’s address will be held –
At 7:00pm for a 7:30pm start. The function will be held at the dinning room on the ground level to the right of the foyer of the Hampton RSL, Holyrood Street,
